Backs comfortably help minimize leaning from side to side. Most wheelchair backs are reclining and adjustable, and require minimal maintenance by the caregiver. Backs are usuallly attached by removing the upholstery of the wheelchair, and are easily removed when collapsing a chair for transport. Proper sizing of backs is based on the width of the wheelchair.
